I HAVE A VISION FOR THE FUTURE OF HUDSON

I have a plan to make Hudson more affordable, enjoyable, responsive, and resilient—through strong leadership, meaningful reform & smart growth.

We’ll make Hudson affordable by building more housing, making property taxes fairer, and bringing in needed revenue—so residents aren’t priced out of their own city.

I will make it enjoyable by improving how we walk, bike, bus and gather—fixing our streets, restoring outdoor dining, and making it easier for neighbors to come together.

I will make it responsive by giving residents a real voice—through regular in-person public meetings, clear consistent communication from City Hall and a People’s Charter Reform.

I will make it resilient by pursuing a vision of smart growth—diversifying our economy, broadening the tax base, and planning for long-term stability instead of short-term fixes.

  • Balance the Budget. Plan for Growth.

    Make It Easier to Build.
I will implement comprehensive zoning reforms, simplify the review process, and engage a planning consultant to make it easy to build the housing that we need.

    Reassess Fairly.
I will initiate a citywide property reassessment so everyone pays based on what they actually own—with protections in place to cap sudden increases.

    Collect What’s Owed.
Recover $2.5 million in unpaid property taxes —and end tax breaks for the largest property developers here. .

    Bring In New Revenue.
Hire a Grants Coordinator to secure outside funding, and enforce our vacancy tax on long-empty properties—so we can afford more without squeezing local residents.

  • Walkable Streets. Welcoming Spaces. A City That Connects.

We’re living in a disconnected age. But public life still brings people together.

Let’s make Hudson more walkable, more connected, and more alive.

Make Hudson Walkable. I will seek grants to create a citywide transportation plan to make it easy to get around town - whether you walk, bike, ride the bus or drive.

Fix our Sidewalks & Intersections. Upgrade our five most dangerous intersections through low-cost interventions so —so everyday travel feels safe for people of all ages and abilities.

Celebrate Summer in the Streets. Launch Summer Walks and seasonal street events that turn our blocks into places to gather, play, and connect..

Bring Back Outdoor Dining. Re-establish seasonal use of Warren Street for dining and gathering—to support our restaurants and celebrate public space.

Invite People to Stay and Connect. Add benches, seating, and public bathrooms across the city—so everyone feels welcome in our parks, sidewalks, and public spaces.

  • A Mayor That Listens. A City That Works.

Hudson runs better when residents help shape the decisions.

Let’s build a city government that communicates clearly, meets regularly, and shares real power with the people it serves.

Let the People Shape Government. I will launch a People’s Charter Reform to give  residents the power to design a modern city government built to serve us all.

Meet Regularly, Face-to-Face. I will hold monthly Town Halls and quarterly Forums to develop a habit of having a conversation with ourselves about our challenges and opportunities.

Communicate Clearly & Consistently. I will have a regular rhythm of updates across the city’s website and social channels—so residents know what’s happening and how to get involved.

Hold Focused Conversations. I will host town halls on key issues like housing, climate, and transportation—giving space for deeper dialogue and real input on big decisions.

Strengthen Public Meetings. I will make facilitation training mandatory for anyone leading a public meeting—so conversations stay respectful and productive.

Create a New Form of Civic Service Launch a regular Residents’ Assembly—where everyday people, chosen by lottery, help decide big issues like zoning, budgeting, and the city’s future.Item description

  • A Stronger Economy. More Neighbors. A Plan to Grow.

Hudson’s future depends on real planning—not reaction.

Let’s grow with purpose: more jobs, more homes, and smart partnerships that keep Hudson livable as we welcome more people in.

Grow Local Jobs. I will organize an advisory council to develop economic development strategies to attract new industries to Hudson  so more people can live and work here full time.

Build More Homes. Make it easier to build housing of all kinds—so families, workers, and seniors can afford to stay in Hudson.

Plan for 10,000. I have a vision of making Hudson livable for 10,000 full-time residents with a smart plan that links housing, jobs, infrastructure, and public space.

Support our Schools. Work with the Hudson City School District to make Hudson a great place to grow up.

Work with Neighbors. Team up with Greenport and nearby towns to fix shared challenges—like housing, transportation, and water—together.
